CARTAGENA SAILING WEEK 2025
Premier Multi-Class Racing & Training in Colombia
Cartagena Sailing Week 2025 brought together 40 competitive sailors from across the Americas for an unforgettable week of training and racing in one of the Caribbean’s most vibrant sailing destinations. Hosted by Club de Pesca y Vela and presented by the Liga de Vela de Bolívar, the event featured both high-performance clinics and championship regattas in the ILCA and Sunfish classes.
This year’s edition included participation from Guatemala, Mexico, Panama, Ecuador, Colombia, and Peru. The sailors took part in three intensive days of clinics, led by expert coaches, focusing on tactical refinement and technical performance ahead of the championship races.
A midweek break allowed participants to enjoy the culture and coastal beauty of Cartagena before returning to the water for three days of racing under the guidance of internationally acclaimed Race Officer Ian McClelland. Two distinguished international juries from Perú and Uruguay helped ensure top-level race management and fairness on the course.
Racing took place in the ideal conditions of Cartagena Bay, with Club de Pesca y Vela providing warm hospitality, daily social events, and full access to its waterfront facilities. The Colombian Naval Academy again served as host accommodations, offering safety and convenience for all participants, coaches, and officials.
With its growing international visibility, expert management, and regional importance, CSW 2025 solidified Cartagena’s place as a leading center for competitive sailing in the Americas.
